Free Card Game for Participants

Free card game available at the AgileOpen 2011 only

Game rules

Gather 8 to 19 players. One person plays the game master. He gives each player a random card, except himself. No one is allowed to show their cards to each other, unless the game rules say so.

Number of participants

If there are 15, 17 or 19 players (gamemaster included), the gamemaster includes two "evil waterfall sorcerer" cards, otherwise one. The other cards are agilists.

Discover the evil waterfall sorcerer

The game is played in turns. In each turn, the evil waterfall sorcerer(s) or ews kill an agilist's project during a steering committee. After the steerco, the agilists gather for a standup meeting and decide who the ews would be. The game ends when either

  • all evil waterfall sorcerers are discovered by the agilists: in that case, the agilists win the game
  • evil waterfall sorcerers and agilists are the same in number (thus, 1 agilist and 1 evil waterfall sorcerer or 2 agilists and 2 evil waterfall sorcerers): in that case, the evil waterfall sorcerers win.

A project just got killed by the board

When an agilist's project is killed, he cannot take part in the discussion anymore. Also when an evil waterfall sorcerer is discovered, he cannot harm the agilists anymore. If an agilist's project is killed by the evil waterfall sorcerers, he shows his card to all. If someone is accused by the group of being an evil waterfall sorcerer, he shows his card and his project is killed.

But why?

During the steerco meeting, the agilists close their eyes. The game master tells when to. He also announces the death of a project and gives a reason (for example, "Your project was killed because of lack of long-term detail planning").
